This Privacy Policy explains how M365 Services Corp (“M365 Services,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information in connection with CogniAtlas, including the CogniAtlas web preview, mobile and desktop applications, related support channels, and downloadable CogniAtlas files.

CogniAtlas V1 is designed as a local-first mind mapping app. Core map creation, editing, saving, importing, and exporting are intended to work without requiring a live cloud account.

1. Scope

This policy applies to CogniAtlas and related support interactions. It does not replace privacy policies for unrelated PowerM365 services, app stores, identity providers, cloud storage providers, browser vendors, device platforms, or third-party websites.

2. Information You Create Or Add

Depending on how you use CogniAtlas, your maps may contain:

– Topic text, notes, outlines, hyperlinks, icons, and relationship links.
– Imported native CogniAtlas CGA files.
– Images, drawings, reusable visual assets, and exported files.
– Map metadata such as layout mode, coordinates, collapsed state, colors, and timestamps.

In the current local-first V1 workflow, this content is stored in your browser/device storage or in files you choose to save, download, import, or export. We do not sell your map content.

3. Information We May Receive

We may receive limited information when you choose to contact us or use connected services, including:

– Your name, email address, company, message, screenshots, files, or other details you voluntarily send for support or feedback.
– Basic technical details you include in a report, such as browser, device, operating system, app version, and steps to reproduce an issue.
– Hosting or platform logs from services used to deliver the web preview, app downloads, support email, or store listings.
– Account or cloud-provider information if future CogniAtlas releases enable live authentication, cloud storage, sync, or subscription features.

4. Local Storage, Cookies, And Similar Technologies

CogniAtlas may use browser local storage, indexed storage, cache storage, or similar device storage to keep recent maps, draft recovery data, settings, imported assets, and working files available between sessions. These technologies are used for app functionality, not behavioral advertising.

If you clear browser/site data, uninstall the app, change devices, or delete local files, locally stored maps or drafts may be removed unless you saved/exported them separately.

5. How We Use Information

We use information to:

– Operate, maintain, test, and improve CogniAtlas.
– Provide support, respond to feedback, and investigate bugs or import/export issues.
– Improve reliability, compatibility, accessibility, and platform readiness.
– Protect the app, users, and our rights from fraud, abuse, security issues, or unlawful activity.
– Comply with legal obligations and app-store requirements.

6. Sharing

We may share information only as needed for the following purposes:

– With service providers that help operate hosting, support email, app distribution, analytics, diagnostics, or cloud features.
– With app stores or platform providers when required for distribution, support, crash reporting, or compliance.
– With identity or storage providers you choose to connect in future releases, such as Apple, Google, Microsoft, OneDrive, Dropbox, iCloud, or similar services.
– When required by law, legal process, security investigation, or to protect rights and safety.

We do not sell personal information or use CogniAtlas map content for behavioral advertising.

7. Third-Party Services

CogniAtlas may be accessed through browsers, app stores, operating systems, hosting services, identity providers, cloud storage providers, or support tools. Those services may process information under their own privacy policies. Review the policies for any third-party service you choose to use with CogniAtlas.

8. Data Retention

Local map data remains on your device or in files you save until you delete it, clear site data, uninstall the app, or replace the file. Support requests, feedback, diagnostics, and related communications are retained only as long as reasonably needed for support, product improvement, legal compliance, and business records.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No internet transmission or electronic storage method is completely secure. You are responsible for safeguarding exported files, shared map files, and devices where your maps are stored.

10. Children

CogniAtlas is intended for general productivity, education, planning, and visual thinking use. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can take appropriate action.

11. Your Choices And Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection regarding personal information we control. You can also choose not to send optional support files, not to connect future cloud providers, and to delete local browser/device data.

12. International Users

M365 Services Corp is based in the United States. If you use CogniAtlas from another country, information you provide to us may be processed in the United States or other locations where our service providers operate.

13. Changes To This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as CogniAtlas evolves or as legal, technical, or store requirements change. The “Last updated” date will identify the latest version. Material changes may also be communicated through the app, support page, store listing, or website.
